I finally saw the Northern Lights. And fortunately, I was armed with a load of tools (a.k.a. camera settings) from orbit1 and notraces, so I got some good stuff. Especially when you consider it's my first night of getting this quality of shots... Oh, yeah. Did I mention that I SAW THE NORTHERN LIGHTS??? using the D100: f4.5, iso200, 80 seconds, 24mm...and here's a big tip: set the white balance to DAYLIGHT.
